About me - Georgia Garrett

My name is Georgia Garrett and I’m a PR and Advertising student at Loyola University Chicago with a love for design, media, and creative storytelling. Through my classes and projects, I’ve built up skills in graphic design, content creation, and brand strategy. I’m comfortable in tools like Adobe Express, CapCut, Canva, and Premiere Pro, and I’m always looking to learn something new.
I’m especially interested in the creative side of media—designing for impact, telling stories that stick, and helping brands show up in ways that feel real and engaging.

Academic focus:

I am interested in the creative side of AD and PR. I have always been passionate about editing, creative storytelling, developing campaign ideas, and exploring how design and social media can bring brand messages to life.

My Story

I have always been the type of person to change what I wanted to be when I was older. I remember as a kid I wanted to be a doctor, a business owner, a hair stylist, and the list goes on. As I got older, I knew I wanted a career in something that challenged me, motivated me, kept me interested, and allowed me to be creative. My first two years of college, I was a journalism major and fell in love with videography, editing, and creative storytelling which led me to switch my major to AD and PR. Through my AD and PR classes, I discovered this was the career for me, a field where I can film, design, create, collaborate, and tell stories in ways that inspire people. Since I know creativity is my foundation, I see myself building a future where my work excites me every day and allows me to make an impact through communication. This site is to share my projects, blog posts, and creative growth as I continue my journey in PR and AD.

Experience

I've had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of communication roles. I interned with the I've Had It Podcast where I filmed content for Patreon, created and edited social media posts, managed emails, and even helped plan a campaign for Oklahoma District Attorney Vicki Behenna's re-election. At Loyola, I work as a Creative Design Coordinator for Inigo, the universities student run communications agency, collaborating with real world clients to produce creative materials including photos, slideshows, videos, and digital content. I also gained valuable experience as a communications intern at a middle school in Oklahoma City, where I created weekly newsletters, drafted and sent emails, and supported ongoing parent and community outreach.

Interests

Outside of class, I love to keep myself busy. Hanging out with my friends, going shopping, long walks listening to my favorite music, and exploring Chicago. I was born and raised in Oklahoma City and have always been a huge OKC Thunder fan, so experiencing them win the 2025 NBA Finals was a huge moment for Oklahoma City. I also am a big television person. Watching movies and TV shows always takes up my free time. Some of my favorite movies include Little Miss Sunshine, Good Will Hunting, and Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind. I will watch any TV show but some of my all time favorites include The Bear, Vanderpump Rules, and Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
